Trinidad and Tobago is filled with breath taking flora. Some of the flowers native to Trinidad and Tobago are;
  • Wild Orchid
  • Xiora,
  • Bougainvillea,
  • Hibiscus,
  •  Poinsettia,

However, Trinidad and Tobago is known for its National Flower , the Chaconia. The flower is red in colour and is only associated with Trinidad and Tobago. The Chaconia, is also called “Wild Poinsettia” or “Pride of Trinidad and Tobago.”

 This flower was names in respect of the country's Spanish Governor Don Jose Maria Chacon. It usually blooms in both isles around our anniversary of Independence time.  The chaconia symbolizes the perseverance of life and the continuity of our nation. Its flaming red colour also harmonizes well with Trinidad’s National Emblems.
